Jonathan Taylor is Extremely Consistent
Is there a more consistent running back in college football history than Jonathan Taylor? The history books say no. While he didn’t have the flash as say Saquan Barkley or Reggie Bush, Taylor was extremely reliable.
In fact, the only blemish on his record is Taylor’s 15 lost fumbles over 41 career games. Week in and week out, he delivered. There is a reason he was named to two consecutive All-American teams and won the Doak Walker Award for colleges best back two years in a row. The reason is his consistency.
Here is a fun fact, Taylor holds the record for most 200-yard rushing games in FBS history with 12. To put this number in perspective, he only played 41 games, meaning he hit 200 yards in about 29% of his games and reached 100 rushing yards in 78% of his games. In 2018, he rushed over 100 yards in all but one game, a loss to Northwestern, in which he only received 11 carries.
Taylor will go down in history as one of college football’s greatest running backs. He was the focal point of the Wisconsin Badgers offense. He was a major reason why they had so much success in recent years. On the Colts, he needs to prove he is much more than a collegiate star.
