3 early predictions for Cardinals rookie LB Isaiah Simmons in 2020

The Arizona Cardinals were widely expected by experts to use the No. 8 selection in the 2020 NFL Draft on an offensive tackle. They ended up taking former Clemson linebacker Isaiah Simmons instead.

There was a lot of speculation surrounding what position Simmons will play at the NFL level given his unique role versatility at Clemson. He ended up playing most of his snaps as a slot corner and at safety, even more than he did at either linebacker role.

The role the Cardinals plan to have for Simmons will be at the inside linebacker position. For reference, he played 120 of his snaps at that particular spot last season with Clemson and actually played 160 at outside linebacker.

The likely thoughts behind having Simmons at inside linebacker is that he can strike fear into offenses from the middle of the field, get tasked with slowing down the running back, and serve as a quarterback spy when needed.

With that being said, here are three early predictions for Cardinals linebacker Isaiah Simmons in 2020.
