3 ideal fits for the New England Patriots at No. 23 in the NFL Draft

The New England Patriots have had a rough offseason so far, losing Tom Brady to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and also losing linebackers Kyle Van Noy and Jamie Collins. Bill Belichick and company are entering a new era of football, but they want to remain as competitive as possible.

With free agency mostly over, the Patriots could still swoop in and find a quarterback like Jameis Winston or Cam Newton. Going that route would make a lot of sense, but New England might want to give Jarrett Stidham a chance to show what he is capable of.

However, the Patriots can also add an impact player or two in the upcoming 2020 NFL Draft. At this point in time, they hold the No. 23 overall pick in the first round. It is higher than they normally pick, but no one will complain about it in New England.

Belichick must find an impact player, whether that player makes an impact on offense or defense. New England simply needs to add young talent on cheap contracts.

All of that being said, let’s take a look at three ideal targets for the Patriots with the No. 23 overall pick in the NFL Draft.
