Play for a Contender
Many experts consider the New Orleans Saints as being one of the few true Super Bowl contenders heading into the upcoming season. That’s before the thought of a potential addition of a player like Jadeveon Clowney into the mix and would only be furthered after the fact.
The Saints already had a high-level offense heading into the offseason yet they managed to bolster it further. They patched up the deficiencies on the offensive line that came with Larry Warford by drafting Cesar Ruiz and signed Emmanuel Sanders to fill the need for a reliable secondary receiver.
With the offense being reinforced in key areas, the next focus should be on the defense. One of the greatest ways to provide a boost to defense is to further bolster the front-seven with a dynamic pass-rusher, especially when there already is another in the unit.
When putting all of the pieces together, the Saints would be fielding a special team by adding Clowney. It would enable them to exhaust their resources to help capitalize on the remaining window they have of Drew Brees’ illustrious NFL career.
