3 reasons the Redskins should be ecstatic about Dwayne Haskins in 2020

Showed Progression Last Season

It’s never easy to hit the ground running at the NFL level. It can take time for any rookie to be able to get comfortable and have it start translating to legitimate success. Dwayne Haskins proved to be no exception but he displayed progression.

The first two appearances Haskins made at the NFL level were genuinely rough. He ended up completing 54.6% of his 22 pass attempts resulting in four interceptions in zero touchdowns. After these two performances, he managed to significantly cut down on interceptions.

The initial five starts Haskins made were underwhelming but were more stable in execution. He was held without a touchdown pass and below 160 yards in three of those performances. His best display featured totals of 214 yards, two touchdowns, and a pick in a 34-17 loss to the New York Jets.

The final two performances of Haskins’ season were impressive and it was important to see even if it were against two bad defenses. He completed 72.1% of his 43 pass attempts, resulting in 394 passing yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions with a 131.3 quarterback rating.
