4 early reasons the Packers will win the NFC North in 2020

Vikings Will Take a Step Back

The main competitor for the Green Bay Packers when it comes to taking home the NFC North crown will almost certainly be the Minnesota Vikings. This was the case last season and given the current landscape of the division and is little reason to believe it will be different in 2020.

It’s important to not understate the importance Stefon Diggs had for the Vikings’ offense, especially last season. Minnesota lacks the necessary personnel to seamlessly fill the void left behind by his departure and they were already needing to add more supporting cast talent.

There are concerns with the Vikings’ defense, too. They no longer have many of their starters from a season ago, particularly in the secondary. They lacked the necessary cap space to make sufficient additions to replace them and will be relying on draft prospects to produce from day one.

The Vikings already were behind the Packers last season and it just didn’t feel like they did enough to surpass them. There was simply too much restriction in spending for Minnesota to make substantial improvement to its roster and it showed.
