Bears Offense Remains Worrisome
Everyone knows about the talent the Chicago Bears have on defense but it was overshadowed by the team’s offense producing such poor results last season. There were high hopes for the Bears heading into last season but they ended with a mere 8-8 record.
It’s important to put into perspective how unimpressive the Bears were on offense last season. They averaged 296.8 total yards per game (29th) and 17.5 points per game (29th) while posting a net neutral turnover differential. That must change before Chicago can be successful.
There hasn’t been much change for the Bears to have confidence in a potential turnaround next season. The rationale behind that thought includes Chicago continuing to start Mitchell Trubisky, having some holes on the offensive line, and failing to add more impactful wide receivers.
Based on the landscape of the Bears’ roster, they appear primed to repeat their disappointing performance. There is simply too much pressure placed on Chicago’s defense to execute at a high-level without receiving nearly enough help from its offense.
