There are still some veteran free agents available that can make an impact on an NFL team if signed. Towards the top of the list features veteran cornerback Aqib Talib after more widely discussed names such as Jadeveon Clowney, Cam Newton, and Logan Ryan.
The Rams needed to clear salary-cap space in order to have enough room to sign Jalen Ramsey to a contract extension. As a result, Los Angeles sent Talib to the Dolphins in a mid-season transaction. He was quickly placed on Injured Reserve after fracturing his ribs, never playing a down for Miami.
During his five regular season appearances in 2019, Talib recorded 14 combined tackles and two passes defensed. Each of his previous two seasons have ended with him being placed on Injured Reserve with his final Pro Bowl campaign occurring in 2017 as a member of the Denver Broncos.
Despite being placed on Injured Reserve last season, Talib made it clear he’s ‘healthy enough to play’ in early-November. He also made it clear he disagreed with the Rams’ decision to place him under that designation, so it’s not important to take that context into consideration.
With that being said, here are four potential landing spots that would be ideal for free agent cornerback Aqib Talib.
