Cincinnati Bengals’ Receivers Showed Needed Improvement
There may not have been a bigger storyline surrounding the Cincinnati Bengals entering Week 6 than A.J. Green seemingly giving up on a route and mouthing the words ‘trade me’ on the sideline.
Against a tough Colts defense, Green managed to turn things around with a big outing. Joe Burrow targeted him a game-high 11 times— resulting in eight catches and 96 yards.
Perhaps most impressive of all was that Green wasn’t even the Bengals’ most productive receiver in this game. The rookie wideout from Clemson, Tee Higgins, hauled in six catches and gained 125 yards. Having two receivers that managed to exceed a total of 200 yards.
It could be a potential silver-lining for the Bengals if Green is able to turn his season around after a terrible start. It would surely help to have Higgins become a consistent contributor, too.
