Carson Wentz
There is no way Carson Wentz can afford to have another outing as he did against the Washington Football Team in Week 1. Wentz threw for 270 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions while completing 57.1 percent of his passes. This is not the Wentz the Eagles are betting their future on.
His passes were either sailing high or sinking low. For the Eagles to come out with a victory against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 2, Wentz will need to return to form.
One of the main reasons for his weak play, besides the eight sacks he took, was his inability to get the ball downfield. Despite having Alshon Jeffery out, the Eagles still have speed at the wide receiver position with DeSean Jackson and Jalen Reagor.
If the offensive line can provide Wentz with time to throw, the Eagles’ offense can easily put up 30+ points. To help Wentz out, the offense will need to find a way to produce a better rushing performance than they did against Washington. Wentz attempted 42 passes but the Eagles attempted only 17 rushes for 57 yards. With Miles Sanders expected back, Wentz should be better.
