4 needs for the Minnesota Vikings in NFL free agency

Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

Cornerback

When considering that Trae Waynes and Mackensie Alexander are set to hit free agency and Xavier Rhodes has already been released, the Vikings are facing a lot of uncertainty at this spot. Finding answers for this position is crucial since it’s such a focal point of the team’s defense.

There is a possibility for Minnesota that they could need to replace Waynes on the outside and Alexander in the slot if they depart in free agent. They will need Mike Hughes to achieve strong individual success but add more talent to this position group.

There is almost a consensus opinion from NFL experts that the Vikings will select a cornerback in the first round of the draft. While that is certainly a move that would help address such a big need, the need goes well beyond just adding one rookie corner.
