Jerick McKinnon Leads the 49ers in Receiving Yards
There is no doubt that Jerick McKinnon will play an important role for the San Francisco 49ers’ offense this season. It took some time to finally get him on the field, but the slashing multi-purpose back will finally be available for the 49ers.
While Raheem Mostert has the highest ceiling as a running back, McKinnon could play a big part in the 49ers’ passing and running game. He could play a similar role as Austin Ekeler does as an important part of the Los Angeles Chargers’ offense.
McKinnon might be the 49ers secret weapon and that comes after some worry about him returning as a shell of his former self. However, he has been very explosive in practice so far. He appears ready to add another dimension as a pass catcher out of the backfield.
It will be fun to watch how 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan uses all the dynamic talent the team has on offense this season. Jerick McKinnon could be the X-Factor for San Francisco this season and he will showcase that by leading the team in receiving yards in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals.
