5. Justin Herbert Will Throw Over 300 yards Again
Justin Herbert is playing pretty well for a rookie QB. He hasn’t been perfect and each game he’s thrown an interception, however, this offense is built for Herbert to succeed. There are playmakers all around Herbert and he has shown the ability to push the ball downfield.
While the Buccaneers have been solid thus far on defense, the Chargers will set the tone and come out aggressive. Los Angeles has been running the ball a lot through the first three weeks of the season. However, Herbert has still been able to put up big passing numbers.
Expect the Chargers’ offense will be on the field a lot this week. Keenan Allen, Austin Ekeler, and Hunter Henry are all very valuable players. If Mike Williams is able to play this week that just adds another tremendous deep threat. The opportunity will be there for Herbert to have a big game.
The Buccaneers have done a pretty good job defending the pass so far. However, look at the quarterbacks they’ve been up against. First was Drew Brees who is looking extremely conservative this year, and very comfortable dinking and dunking his way down the field.
The following week was Teddy Bridgewater, traditionally a very conservative QB who threw for over 350 yards. Last week the Bucs faced Jeff Driskel and Brett Rypien. This week will be their first time facing an offense that likes to stretch the ball downfield. Justin Herbert will have another 300-yard day.
