Deebo Samuel Will Go To The Pro Bowl
It’s been 17 years since the 49ers sent a wide receiver to the NFL’s All-Star game (Terrell Owens last represented them in 2003), but Samuel has a shot at breaking that streak.
He impressed as a rookie with 961 combined yards from scrimmage — 802 through the air, 159 on the ground — and six total touchdown catches. But now Shanahan has a better idea of how to get the ball to Samuel, and a year of reflective film study should do a lot to help the young stud level up.
On top of that, Emmanuel Sanders isn’t around to take targets away from him. The only new competition at wideout is rookie receiver Brandon Aiyuk, who turned in just one season of real production in college before jumping to the pros.
An offseason foot injury may slow Samuel down to start the year, but that just makes this prediction spicier.
