Washington Redskins
The slate will be clean for Dwayne Haskins in 2020 during the first year of the Ron Rivera regime. It’s not unreasonable to assume there is a possibility Haskins struggles under a new head coach and the team faces uncertainty at the quarterback position heading into next offseason.
There is an additional factor to consider when it comes to evaluating the Redskins as a possible Aaron Rodgers landing spot, too. Even if Haskins succeeds next season, the chance to upgrade with a player like Rodgers is too attractive to pass up.
The Redskins are projected to have among the most cap space in the NFL next offseason and that makes pulling off a move for Rodgers feasible. They’d have to be willing to part with compensation to pull it off, but it would be well worth it on the field and from a marketing standpoint.
It’s clear the Redskins will need to have a dynamic quarterback under center to compete with the rest of the NFC East. Each of the other teams is on the rise and it will be tough to keep pace in the scoring department. Adding Rodgers would send shockwaves throughout the division.
