San Francisco 49ers
As much as the San Francisco 49ers don’t want to admit, their chances of winning the Super Bowl would have been much greater had they been led by a dynamic quarterback like Aaron Rodgers. They likely don’t have enough impact with Jimmy Garoppolo to win it all.
The expectations will be sky high for Garoppolo and the 49ers in 2020 considering how they have more than enough talent to make another run. If they fail to achieve what they set out to accomplish again, it doesn’t seem unreasonable to suspect San Francisco at least keeping their options open.
If the 49ers were interested in moving on from Garoppolo in order to pull off a deal for Rodgers, they could clear cap space by releasing him. San Francisco would clear over $24 million in cap space in the process, but that would only be necessary if they failed to find a trade suitor.
The 49ers have plenty of intriguing talents like George Kittle and Deebo Samuel along with Brandon Aiyuk to pair with Rodgers. They’d have a reliable running game while also allowing Rodgers to take shots down field, formulating a daunting offensive attack.
