Las Vegas Raiders
It seems there are almost always rumors circulating involving Derek Carr and his future with the Las Vegas Raiders. An opportunity to acquire Aaron Rodgers could make that situation much clearer considering it would be a no-brainer to pull it off and part ways with Carr.
Even if Carr managed to put together a successful 2020 campaign, his impact doesn’t stack up with Rodgers. Being able to pair talents like Josh Jacobs, Darren Waller, and Henry Ruggs III with Rodgers would be an opportunity the Raiders simply couldn’t pass up.
The logistics required to make this move happen are rather simple. The Raiders have the option to cut Carr after the 2020 season and can save nearly $20 million in cap spending. That would significantly help the financial ability to acquire Rodgers via trade.
Let’s not forget about the financial potential for this move for both the Raiders and Rodgers. There would be significant excitement for the fan base in Las Vegas and Rodgers would have a unique opportunity to capitalize on being in such a lucrative market.
