Raise Total For Touchdowns
The 2018 season that featured historic production from Patrick Mahomes naturally resulted in impressive results for Travis Kelce. While he continued to post significant receiving yardage last season, his volume for touchdowns dropped by half.
It certainly is justifiable that Kelce would experience a decline from having 10 receiving touchdowns in 2018. Opposing teams make it a point to try to reduce his ability to get in the end-zone, especially when factoring in how much of a matchup nightmare he has become.
There is even more for opposing teams to have to worry about in the Chiefs’ offense after a successful offseason, which should help to open things up more for Kelce. Between the selection of Clyde Edwards-Helaire in the NFL Draft and potential development from Mecole Hardman in his second-season, more help is on the way.
Managing to finish the 2020 season with close to 10 touchdowns is a goal Kelce should have. He has proven to be more than capable of achieving lofty single-season totals in this area and the circumstances suggest he could do it again.
