Hefty Price Tag for the Trade

At the time of the trade, the immediate reaction from many seemed to be a sense of relative confusion regarding how much compensation the Seattle Seahawks gave up.

Mostly since Jamal Adams is under contract through 2021, he didn’t have much leverage to force his way out of town. If anything, his public comments criticizing head coach Adam Gase should have made it more difficult for New York to ask for so much.

Some of that likely had to do with the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys being involved in trade talks before the Seahawks’ deal got done. Having competition to get a deal done with a fellow NFC West rival no less, could have provided Seattle with more motivation

Regardless of the justification for the Seahawks, the price tag still leaves some to be desired. Especially when Minkah Fitzpatrick was recently dealt in a trade package involving just one first-round pick.
