Miami Dolphins: 3 Best Performances in Week 2 Win vs. Jets

It wasn’t pretty, but games between the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets rarely are. Sunday’s Week 2 game was full of miscues, missed opportunities and some baffling play calls. But at the end of the day, Miami came out of Met Life Stadium having taken over once again.

With the win, and some help from the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Miami Dolphins now sit alone atop the AFC East standings at 2-0. Of course it’s early in the season, but it’s been a long time since Dolphins fans could make that claim. We’re only two games into the season, but it’s a great start for a team that many considered one of the worst in the NFL and a surefire top-five selection in next year’s NFL Draft.

The offense struggled at times, the defense allowed a few chunk plays but came up big when it mattered most. The special teams unit was arguably the star of the game for the Dolphins, pinning the Jets deep in their own territory consistently. If Miami wants to shock the world and continue its winning ways, the offense needs to improve.

But, for now, it’s a great win and puts the team in a great position.

It may have been ugly at times, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t some performances worthy of highlighting. Before we move on to Week 3 and the Oakland Raiders, let’s take a look at the three best performances from Sunday for the Dolphins.
