5. AJ Dillon
If there’s one thing we know about the Green Bay Packers, it’s that they love to put entirely unnecessary pressure on their star players. Not only did they draft Utah State quarterback Jordan Love of the 2020 NFL Draft as Aaron Rodger’s future successor, but they selected running back AJ Dillon in the second round after already flaunting a solid backfield.
For context, starter Aaron Jones is fresh off compiling 1,500 yards from scrimmage and leading the league with 16 rushing touchdowns. However, the Packers wouldn’t spend a second-round selection on Dillon, who tallied well over 1,000 rushing yards in each of his three seasons at Boston College, if they didn’t plan to make him a big part of the offense.
Don’t be surprised if Dillon wins No. 2 duties over Jamaal Williams out of training camp. We could be looking at a potential league-winner if Jones were to go down with an injury.
