Defense/Special Teams

The defense/special teams of the Packers was average in 2019. The unit ranked 16th according to FantasyPros, averaging 6.8 points per game.

The Packers gave up an average of 19.6 points per game as a defense, which was one of the better marks in the league. The Packers’ 17 interceptions were third-most in the league but failed to return any interceptions for touchdowns. But their 41 sacks put them in the middle of the pack.

Looking at the special teams, it was slightly above-average for the Packers. They failed to get any touchdowns on either punt or kick returns, but they averaged 9.0 yards per punt return and 24.2 yards per kick return, which was ranked 9th and 11th respectively.

For 2020, the Packers defense/special teams would be serviceable, but by no means an elite group to take. If you need a second unit or simply forgot to take one, as one does, the Packers is a safe option.
