Fantasy Football: Position-by-Position Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em Picks for Week 13

WRs to start in Week 13

Vikings’ Justin Jefferson (vs. Jaguars): With Cousins being a stellar start in fantasy football this week, it’s only fitting we have his new No. 1 target as a must-start option as well. Justin Jefferson has had one of the best rookie seasons for a WR in NFL history, catching 52 passes for 918 yards and six touchdowns for 181.8 fantasy points. The first-year wideout should continue his dominance in Week 13 versus a Jacksonville secondary that has given up 90.3 fantasy points to WRs in the past two weeks, which is tied for the third-most in the NFL.

Browns’ Jarvis Landry (vs. Titans): The Cleveland Browns have made it known that they want to pound the rock and enforce their will on opposing defenses with their one-two punch of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt — who are both in a favorable matchup this week. But last week, we saw that Jarvis Landry is the only pass-catching option worth starting for the Browns, as he recorded a season-high 28.3 fantasy points against the Jaguars. Following his matchup with Jacksonville, Landry gets to go up against the Tennessee Titans, who have surrendered 2,029 receiving yards (seventh-most in the NFL) and 41.28 fantasy points per week (fifth-most in the NFL) to WRs this season.

Dolphins’ DeVante Parker (vs. Bengals): When Ryan Fitzpatrick is under center, DeVante Parker has been a fantastic option in fantasy football. In the first six games of the season, Parker had four games of 11+ fantasy points with Fitzpatrick throwing him the ball. And just last week, he had 19.9 fantasy points against the Jets. If Tua Tagovailoa returns to the starting lineup this week, then Parker’s value declines a bit. But if Fitzpatrick draws another start, then Parker is a solid WR2 in Week 13. Parker will be facing the Bengals, who have permitted 42.6 fantasy points per week to WRs in the past month, which is the seventh-most in the league.

Other WRs to consider in Week 13: Raiders’ Nelson Agholor (vs. Jets), Raiders’ Henry Ruggs (if Agholor is inactive vs. Jets), Colts’ Michael Pittman Jr. (vs. Texans), Jets’ Denzel Mims (vs. Raiders), Titans’ Corey Davis (vs. Browns), Texans’ Keke Coutee (vs. Colts)

WRs to sit in Week 13

Bengals’ Tyler Boyd (vs. Dolphins): It’s always a questionable move to make a judgment on one week in fantasy football, but it’s hard to ignore Tyler Boyd’s drop-off without Joe Burrow last week. In his first game without Burrow, Boyd had a season-worst 4.5 fantasy points, which was 77th among all WRs in Week 12. It’s evident that the Bengals’ WRs are going to be strictly matchup-based plays and this week is not a good week to play them. Cincinnati will travel to take on the Miami Dolphins, who have held opposing WRs to 36.75 fantasy points (sixth-fewest in the league) and eight touchdowns (tied for fifth-fewest in the league). As long as Brandon Allen and Ryan Finley are manning the QB position for the Bengals, Boyd is no longer a must-start WR in fantasy football.

Eagles’ Travis Fulgham (vs. Packers): The Eagles are an absolute mess on offense and they now have zero WRs that can be trusted in fantasy football. Travis Fulgham emerged as a go-to target for Wentz earlier in the season, combining for 96.5 fantasy points from Weeks 4-8. However, with Alshon Jeffery, Jalen Reagor, and Greg Ward also competing for snaps at WR, Fulgham has accumulated 7.2 fantasy points in the past three games. His diminishing role makes him an extremely risky play in fantasy football now.
