Giants: 3 early goals for running back Saquon Barkley in 2020

Remain healthy

Following a rookie campaign in 2018 that he started all 16 games in, Barkley hit a bit of a speed bump in 2019. In Week 4 versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Barkley would suffer a high-ankle sprain that appeared to be semi-serious.

For most running backs, they might need almost two months to recover from a high-ankle sprain. However, Barkley isn’t human and he was able to miss just three weeks before returning to the Giants in Week 7 versus the Arizona Cardinals, where he finished with 72 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Seeing that he was sidelined for three games last season, Barkley likely has his sights on starting in all 16 games again next season. If Barkley is able to suit up in all 16 games, as he did in 2018, then he’s gearing up to have a stellar season in 2020 with the Giants.
