The Emergence of Aaron Jones
One of the biggest reasons for optimism in Green Bay is the emergence of Aaron Jones and the ground game. He had a huge week against the Dolphins, rushing for 145 yards and two touchdowns on just 15 carries. Those numbers average out to 9.7 yards per carry for Jones.
Green Bay fans have been calling for Jones to get more carries all season long. It wasn’t until general manager Brian Gutekunst decided to trade Ty Montgomery that McCarthy was forced to do so.
Now, the Packers are giving the starting job to Jones and are letting him play a workhorse role. Jamaal Williams will receive some carries, but this is Jones’ show.
If Jones can continue playing the way he did against Miami, the Packers’ offense is going to be much more dangerous.
