NFL: 5 QBs set to have huge performances in Week 1 of the 2020 season

After a strange offseason impacted by COVID-19, the NFL season is finally here. The beginning of the Week 1 schedule will involve Patrick Mahomes and the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football.

During Week 1 of the 2019 season, there were some real standout quarterback performances. It was the start of the Lamar Jackson 2019 NFL MVP campaign with him throwing for 324 yards and 5 touchdowns during the Baltimore Ravens’ 59-10 win over the Miami Dolphins.

Two of the other standout performances involved Dak Prescott throwing 405 yards and 4 touchdowns in the Dallas Cowboys’ 35-17 win over the New York Giants. Meanwhile, Matthew Stafford produced 385 yards and 3 touchdowns during a tie with the Arizona Cardinals.

There will be plenty of strong quarterback performances during this year’s NFL Week 1 slate, too. It won’t all be the familiar superstar talents that we are accustomed to seeing filling up the stat sheet either.

With that being said, let’s take a look at which quarterbacks are in a position to have huge performances in Week 1 of the 2020 NFL season.
