1. Chicago Bears

The Bears can’t botch their situation with Robinson, can they? He wants to stay, perhaps against the most convenient logic, and the franchise tag is a mechanism to secure his services for 2021. If nothing else, the tag would create more time to work on a multi-year deal.

Via the Chicago Sun Times, here’s what Robinson said back in January.

I want to be in Chicago, if they’ll have me,” he said. “The biggest thing is, I can’t make that happen by myself. I just gotta control what I can control. I know that everything will probably play out fine.”

The Bears should want to keep Robinson long-term. Unless his tune has changed, it helps he want so stay around. At least for 2021, with the franchise tag as the crutch, Robinson staying in a Bears’ uniform is the most likely scenario. Of course, agreement on a new deal in the coming months would render everything else moot.
