3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Tampa Bay Bucs window is officially open. They made the biggest splash of the offseason and signed Brady to a two-year, $50 million contract. Rob Gronkowski ended his retirement by returning to the NFL to team up with his old teammate from the Patriots.
Brady joins an offense that had two 1,000 yard receivers in 2019. Mike Evans and Chris Godwin turned into one of the top receiving duos in the league. Gronkowski joins a tight end group that already included strong pass catchers in O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate. When looking at the Bucs’ offense, there is a glaring need in the backfield. Ronald Jones II has not had that breakout season yet. He has not looked like a player that can act as a No. 1 back.
Peyton Barber is now in Washington so that leaves Ke’Shawn Vaughn and Dare Ogunbowale as the backups. The Bucs do not have a plan in their post Brady era. Blaine Gabbert and Ryan Griffin are the other quarterbacks on the roster. They signed Brady in an effort to win a championship and win it quickly. If Kamara was added at running back, the offense would be complete.
Bruce Arians is an aggressive coach that likes to play fast and push the ball down the field. He would be able to use Alvin Kamara in a multitude of ways. Brady would benefit from the addition in a big way and the Bucs would turn into contenders in the NFC.
