2. Miami Dolphins
The 2019 Miami Dolphins were supposed to be the worst team ever assembled on a football field. They started out the season 0-7 but won five of their last nine games. Much of the credit should go to head coach Brian Flores. He showed signs of being a coach that can run a team and turn them around.
In the 2020 NFL Draft, the Dolphins added their next franchise quarterback in Tula Tagovailoa. DeVante Parker will return as the team’s No. 1 receiver and tight end Mike Gesicki is on the verge of a breakout season. In the backfield, Jordan Howard signed a two-year deal with a possible out after 2020. If Tagovailoa is as good as advertised and stays healthy, Alvin Kamara would be a perfect mate in the backfield.
The Dolphins were busy in free agency. They landed the top cornerback on the market in Byron Jones and signed linebacker Kyle Van Noy. Emmanuel Ogbah and Shaq Lawson were also added on the defensive end. Miami signed two starters on the offensive line in Ted Karras and Ereck Flowers. This is a team that wants to win and they showed that by speeding up their rebuilding process this offseason.
