Ahead of each NFL season, teams who don’t have their full depth chart sorted out take to training camp for answers. Between the Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, and Seattle Seahawks, the NFC West is no exception.

The 49ers are coming off an impressive turnaround season that ended in a disappointing loss to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl. With a restrictive salary cap landscape, some positions will require competition to identify a starter.

Next up in the NFC West are the Seahawks, who have geared up to position themselves as a Super Bowl contender in 2020. Last season, their loss to the 49ers in Week 17 decided the outcome of the division standings. They may need some key roster spots to exceed expectations to pull it off.

Coming off a flat performance in the Super Bowl, the Rams experienced a real hangover and ultimately failed to make the playoffs last season. They will look to rebound in a major way en route to a return to the playoffs.

It was a tough year for the Cardinals and they appear to be trending nicely. It just may be a year early before they take the leap they are capable of making with Kyler Murray at quarterback.

With that being said, there is one huge training camp battle to watch for each team in the NFC West.
