Green Bay Packers — Rashan Gary
Similar to this year’s draft, the Packers turned some heads in the 2019 NFL Draft when they selected Rashan Gary with the No. 12 pick in the first round. Coming out of Michigan, Gary had only accounted for 9.5 sacks in his three collegiate seasons and he was dealing with a lingering shoulder injury.
Nonetheless, Green Bay took Gary with the hopes that he’d bloom into a formidable edge rusher in their defense. While Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith thrived in their first seasons with the Packers, Gary was unable to show much upside as he dealt with his shoulder ailment and a lack of playing time.
The former Wolverine would record only 21 combined tackles, two sacks, and a fumble recovery in 2019. Even with the Smith duo poised to wreak havoc again in 2020, Gary could become a valuable rotational edge rusher for the Packers, as he intends to put his disappointing rookie season behind him.
