New Orleans Saints — Chauncey Gardner-Johnson
Early in free agency, the Saints chose to reunite with Malcolm Jenkins, who had his team option declined by the Philadelphia Eagles for next season. Besides Jenkins, New Orleans is confident with Marcus Williams at the other safety spot in their defense.
Not to mention, the Saints retained D.J. Swearinger to give them depth at the safety position. Meanwhile, while he isn’t slated to start at safety, Chauncey Gardner-Johnson figures to see an expanded role in New Orleans’ defense in 2020.
Gardner-Johnson would start in seven games while playing in all 16 games, amassing 49 combined tackles, eight pass breakups, and one interception. Given his versatility, the Saints will undoubtedly utilize Gardner-Johnson in a multitude of ways once again next season.
