Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers thrive using a run-heavy approach on offense and naturally, the statistics Jimmy Garoppolo produces face a limited ceiling. That proved to leave him appearing unprepared to take over down the stretch in the Super Bowl.
The wide receiver position featured some changes for the 49ers earlier in the offseason. After Emmanuel Sanders departed in free agency and the decision to trade Marquise Goodwin, San Francisco traded up in the late first round to take Brandon Aiyuk out of Arizona State.
Deebo Samuel recently suffered a broken foot (Jones fracture) during an individual practice. It’s not yet entirely clear when he will be cleared to play as numbers have been floated around, but worst scenario, he could miss the very beginning of the season.
Even if Samuel were to miss some time to start the season, Garropolo should be just fine. The 49ers will still have a high-level running game to keep the defense honest and setup play-action, along with having George Kittle and Aiyuk.
2020 Predictions for Jimmy Garoppolo: 3,750 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.
