Oakland Raiders: Fantasy Finds That Must Be Considered

Jim Matthews-USA TODAY Sports

Wide Receivers

There are three main names to focus on when it comes to the Raiders wide receivers. They include Amari Cooper, Jordy Nelson, and Martavis Bryant. If you are looking for a sleeper, Ryan Swtizer is the name I would give, but for this, we will focus on the core three.

First and foremost, Cooper is undoubtedly a WR1, he just had a down year in 2017. Doesn’t help that Carr was hurt and Todd Downing had no clue how to utilize him. Regardless, Cooper will bounce back in a big way in 2018. As of now, Cooper has an ADP of 36th and is the 15th ranked wide receiver. Likely to go somewhere between rounds two and three, Cooper is a great pick and will surely bounce back from last season. Cooper will be utilized often and leaned on in the Oakland passing game, he will easily hit 1,000 yards.

Advice: If given the opportunity, take Cooper. He will end up in the top-10 for receivers.

Jordy Nelson is a newcomer to the Raiders after spending nine seasons in Green Bay. Expected to be the second string receiver, Nelson will provide most of his fantasy value for being a good redzone target who will bring in some touchdowns. For reference, Nelson has 33 touchdowns in his last three seasons. The overall 99th ranked player in ADP, Nelson is ranked as the 39th best option at wide receiver. Don’t expect Nelson to have a 1,000-yard season, but he will still be productive at the age of 33.

Advice: Nelson is a good option in the middle rounds, but have tempered expectations.

Finally, deep threat Martavis Bryant is the last name to really consider from the Raiders receiving corps. Traded to Oakland during the NFL Draft, Bryant is in need of a fresh start with the Raiders. His talent is readily apparent, anyone who has watched him knows that he is a freak athlete. Behind Nelson and Cooper, it will be tough for Bryant to earn a lot of looks. Bryant is 55th among all wide receivers and is roughly 147th overall.

Advice: Bryant is an interesting prospect to take a late round flier on.
