Eagles Top Priority At NFL Trade Deadline, Revealed

Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles have been one of the busiest teams on the trade market ahead of the 2023 NFL Trade Deadline. After acquiring star safety Kevin Byard from the Tennessee Titans, the Eagles made another move on Monday. They decided to trade defensive lineman Kentavious Street to the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for a late-round pick swap.

Now, it appears that the Eagles are not done trying to make moves. They have a priority that they are looking to add before everything is said and done.

Matt Lombardo of FanBuzz has reported that the Eagles are looking to acquire an edge rusher. They want to find a way to put more pressure on opposing quarterbacks.

There are a few players on the trade market that would make a ton of sense for the Eagles. Two of those named would be Brian Burns of the Carolina Panthers and Preston Smith of the Green Bay Packers.

Both the Panthers and Packers are struggling this season and could end up selling off veteran talent at the trade deadline. Smith seems like a much more likely target for the Eagles.

At this point in the season, the Eagles once again look the part of a potential Super Bowl contender. They hold a 7-1 record after their entertaining 38-31 win over the Washington Commanders this week. Jalen Hurts and company are rolling once again and are talented all the way through their roster.

Being able to acquire another legitimate pass-rusher would take the Eagles’ defense to the next level. It also shows that they are going all-in on getting back to the Super Bowl and finishing the job this season.

Expect to hear plenty of rumors surrounding the Eagles in the coming hours. With the NFL Trade Deadline less than 24 hours away, every team is getting down to business.
