Tom Brady’s involvement in the Las Vegas Raiders ownership group is pending, as certain logistical hurdles must be addressed before he becomes an official owner. Nevertheless, he maintains close ties to the organization, particularly with majority owner Mark Davis.
This association, coupled with Brady’s connection to a former New England Patriots teammate, could potentially lead to the Raiders securing one of the most sought-after coaches currently available.
Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer suggests that the Raiders might be a team worth watching in the pursuit of Mike Vrabel, primarily owing to Vrabel’s relationship with Brady during their time as Patriots teammates.
“Tom Brady was at [Raiders] practice on Friday, their final practice of the regular season. It was the first time Brady had been at the facility since [former coach] Josh McDaniels and [former GM] Dave Ziegler were fired. If Brady is going to be involved in this coaching search, you know who he’s very close with. The guy he played eight years with in New England.”
Breer asserts that Brady’s bond with Vrabel is notably robust, surpassing even his connection with Jim Harbaugh, despite both of them sharing an alma mater at the University of Michigan.
While many Raiders fans and players advocate for Antonio Pierce to be promoted to full-time head coach, the prospect of Vrabel taking on this role seems increasingly viable, given Tom Brady’s influential ties to the team’s ownership.
