70 Total Tackles
Look at any of the Seahawks staples at linebacker over the past decade and they’ll have at least 65 total tackles in their first year. Again, Jordyn Brooks is not a player who will get a plethora of immediate playing time, but he’s arguably the most talented player that Seattle has drafted at this spot.
Last year, Seattle ran a base defense (3 LB) more than any team in the NFL, so the notion of him being in a linebacker room that’s too crowded can be thrown out of the window.
This, added to the fact that Brooks a tackling machine, is a recipe for a strong season from him. In college, Brooks had over 70 total tackles in each of his four years as a Red Raider, including 85 tackles in his debut season. In an NFL season that contains at least three more games than college, 70 should be as easy goal for him.
This number could easily be raised if any of his linebacking counterparts are injured, as the Seahawks have made it public knowledge that they play to play him at all three linebacker positions. If somebody goes down, expect him to reach 85 tackles in his first year.
