1. Russell Wilson Wins MVP
The craziest fact in the NFL might be that Wilson has never received an MVP vote. This is not something that is easy to do. Typically, no more than three or four players receive votes. In 2019, Lamar Jackson was selected unanimously. But still, Wilson is one of the top players in the league every year. Is it possible for him to take that step in 2020?
Wilson is a winner. Since entering the league in 2012, he has played in and started every game for the Seahawks. He has a record of 86-41-1 and a Super Bowl title under his belt in two appearances. Wilson is a six-time Pro Bowler including each of the last three years.
In 2019, Wilson had arguably his best season throwing for 4,110 yards with 31 touchdowns and just five interceptions. He did all this despite being sacked a league-leading 48 times. Wilson is not running as much as he did early on but it is not necessary. He is a quarterback that can make plays with his legs and still use his arm to dominate.
Wilson has turned into one of the best passers in the game. He is able to put the ball on a dime from anywhere on the field. There is a lot of competition for the MVP award every season. Jackson and Patrick Mahomes will continue to be candidates every year. Wilson has never received a vote but the 2020 season could be his time. He is deserving of a Most Valuable Player award.
