Washington Redskins: 3 Takeaways From Week 7 Win vs. Cowboys

Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

3. Costly Mistakes

Even though the game was close, Dallas seemed to shot themselves in the foot with mind-blogging penalties and errors.

Dallas committed eight penalties which cost them 65 yards. This included three neutral zone infractions on defensive ends Demarcus Lawrence and Taco Charlton and holding calls on right tackle La’el Collins and rookie Connor Williams.

The most costly penalty was rare snap infraction call committed by tenured long snapper L.P. Ladouceur which pushed the Cowboys five yards back. This led to Maher missing a game-tying field goal which would’ve put the contest into overtime. Dallas had many chances to come out with a victory in Landover, but stupid penalties caused their downfall.
