The Pittsburgh Steelers will enter the 2020 season looking to bounce back in a big way after posting an 8-8 record. A key factor in their efforts will be JuJu Smith-Schuster and the Indianapolis Colts should keep an eye on his production ahead of 2021 NFL free agency.
The production Smith-Schuster provided the Steelers in 2018 was quite intriguing with Ben Roethlisberger throwing the passes. He finished with an incredible 111 receptions, 1,426 yards, and seven touchdowns.
With a combination of mostly Mason Rudolph and Devlin Hodges in 2019, Smith-Schuster’s production substantially declined. In 12 appearances, he recorded 42 receptions, 552 yards, and three touchdowns–considerably lower across the board.
The 2020 season will mark the final year of Smith-Schuster’s rookie contract. With Roethlisberger back in the lineup, it could be a significant rebound for Smith-Schuster in a combination of key areas.
With that, let’s take a look at why the JuJu Smith-Schuster signing with the Indianapolis Colts in 2021 NFL free agency makes sense.
