Brandon Scherff, Washington Football Team

Going on 29 years old, Brandon Scherff is a seasoned veteran. During his time in the NFL, Scherff has been one of the most consistent guards in the league. While the three-time Pro Bowler has found a lot of individual success, he has only played in one playoff game.

The Washington Football Team is once again rebuilding. There is a good possibility Scherff leaves in free agency to go play for a contender.

Scherff fits the Minnesota attack perfectly. Minnesota mostly uses a zone-blocking run scheme. While Scherff has the ability to down block and pull in the power-scheme, his athletic ability and stellar lateral movement fit best in the zone-scheme.

The Vikings could be losing guard Pat Elflein in free agency. However, Brandon Scherff would be a major improvement at the position.

While it makes sense for Minnesota to target Scherff, it is just as likely Scherff has interest in the Vikings. Scherff likely wants to go to a team that is in “win-now” mode. He may not be the flashiest player, but he could elevate the Vikings already deadly run game.

Kirk Cousins, Dalvin Cook, and the rest of the Vikings offense would benefit tremendously from a Pro Bowl caliber guard. Scherff could help take this offense to the next level.
