Part of the problem with AJ Green in Cincinnati was that his share of the workload was just entirely too much for his body to handle. If he were to sign with a team like the Saints, that wouldn’t be the case.
Joining a team that already has a true number one in Michael Thomas, a great tight end in Jared Cook, and one of the best pass-catching backs in the league with Alvin Kamara, Green would be able to reduce his workload to a manageable number but still produce.
The biggest knock on Green has been his availability or lack thereof, but if he could reduce the number of hits he takes as well as the number of snaps then I’m sure his health would return to him.
The Saints have shown a willingness to bring in receivers that have injury concerns, like when they brought Dez Bryant in, but Green is a much more dynamic receiver than Dez Bryant.
