The 2020 NFL season began with plenty of intriguing matchups in Week 1. The Seattle Seahawks taking on the Atlanta Falcons was certainly on that list and it ended with the Seahawks winning 38-25 being the final score.

This matchup featured a strong start from the Seahawks as they jumped out to a 14-3 lead through the end of the first quarter. The Falcons managed to make it a two-point game at halftime but gave up 14 unanswered points in the third quarter.

Ultimately, the Falcons were unable to ever rally back from the deflating performance they had in the third period. Atlanta managed to outscore Seattle in the final quarter, but it wasn’t by nearly enough to change what felt to be an inevitable outcome by that point.

Both teams play in difficult divisions and getting wins against out-of-division opponents is crucial. For the Seahawks, they nearly won the NFC West in 2019 and will look to make that happen this season. Meanwhile, the Falcons face an uphill battle for a Wild Card spot.

With that being said, let’s take a look at five major takeaways from the Seattle Seahawks vs. Atlanta Falcons matchup in Week 1 of the 2020 NFL season.
