The Tennesse Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars faced off in an AFC South rivalry matchup during Week 2 of the 2020 NFL season. It was the Titans that came out on top with 33-30 being the final score.

While a win is always welcome, this is the second week in a row the Titans won by only a field goal. Meanwhile, this game is a bit of a moral victory for the Jaguars. Many believe Tennessee will come away with the AFC South, but after a slow start, Jacksonville came back and was very close to winning this game.

The Titans are now sole leaders in the AFC South. Their offense was very explosive this week, especially in the first half. However their secondary had trouble containing the pesky Jaguars receivers. Last season, the Titans were playing for a title shot. If they want to hit that level of success again the Titans, their secondary must play better going forward.

For the Jaguars, this is the best the offense has looked in decades. Their receiving core truly could grow into something special. Rookie running back James Robinson has been very impressive thus far in his career. While they are a dark horse for the playoffs, Jacksonville has a very bright future.

While an ugly win is still a win, the Titans must improve as the season goes on. Tennessee was missing some key pieces this week. They will get better as the season goes on. However, they have to understand their weaknesses and improve upon them. These two teams will face off once again in December.

With that being said, let’s take a look at four major takeaways from the Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Tennessee Titans matchup in Week 2 of the 2020 NFL season.
