Lack of weapons on the Lions

Heading into this game, the Lions had numerous injuries on their team, with one of them being Kenny Golladay.

Kenny Golladay may be one of the most underrated receivers in the entire NFL. Golladay is 26 years old and has played 3 years in the NFL, and has managed to have two 1,000 yard seasons. Unfortunately for the Lions, they won’t have Golladay because of a hamstring injury, and they also don’t have any real weapons to replace him.

With Gollady being out, the Lions will likely be throwing out Marvin Jones, Danny Amendola, and rookie receiver Quintez Cephus.

Jones is the best receiver on the Lions not named Golladay, but Jones is a far better suited in the number 2 receiver role, rather than the primary receiver role.

starting with Jones will be Amendola and Cephus, both of whom are on the opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of their career. Amendola is far from prime back in New England and St Louis and is an okay receiver at best. In Cephus you have a rookie receiver who was drafted in the 5th round by the Lions. While Cephus is a young receiver, he did see plenty of targets in week one.

Heading into this game, the Lions really needed Kenny Golladay to be healthy, but unfortunately for them, they will have to make due with the likes of Amendola, Jones and Cephus
