Extends Window to Contend

The Pittsburgh Steelers are in a difficult position when it comes to contending in the AFC right now. They not only have to worry about the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, but they are also in the same division as a Baltimore Ravens team that just went 14-2 last season.

Despite all of that, Ben Roethlisberger’s return should be more than enough for the Steelers to earn a Wild Card spot. It’s important to remember that Roethlisberger racked up a league-most 452 completions and 5,129 passing yards along with 34 touchdowns in 2018.

Considering how the Steelers were already so close to the playoffs despite such underwhelming offensive results, the potential they have next season is very intriguing. They could even pull off a surprise run like the Tennesee Titans did when making to the AFC Championship Game last season.

Pulling off a trade for Aaron Rodgers could help the Steelers to extend their ability to make a deep playoff run by not having to resort to underwhelming options after Roethlisberger retires. There’s not much else Pittsburgh can ask for than that.
