4. Darius Slayton Goes Off
There was a lot of talk about other receivers in the 2019 NFL Draft when entering last season. However, one of the prospects that went under-the-radar was fifth-round selection Darius Slayton, who made a huge impact when his number was called mid-season.
In Week 1, Slayton put together a truly spectacular performance against a tough Steelers defense. He finished with six catches resulting in 102 receiving yards and a pair of touchdown grabs. He followed that up with a struggling outing gainst the Steelers.
It’s going to be a special season for Slayton and he will be relied upon even more with Barkley sidelined. He should put together a strong bounce-back performance against a depleted 49ers secondary.
Slayton will be in a position to exceed and as a result, he could surpass 115 yards receiving with at least one touchdown reception. There’s potential for him to produce even greater results, but that should be a baseline for his impact.
