Los Angeles Rams
The Los Angeles Rams have a quarterback in Jared Goff that has shown to be durable. It never hurts to have options in the event of the unlikely scenario where Goff was to go down with an injury causing him to miss multiple weeks.
As things currently stand, the primary backup for the Rams is projected to be John Wolford and that’s troubling. His only throws in professional football have come during his time in the Alliance of American Football as he has yet to ever attempt a regular-season pass in the NFL.
It would make plenty of sense for the Rams to at least see what Colin Kaepernick is capable of achieving given their respective salary cap situation. It’s an inexpensive option compared to the top remaining free agent quarterbacks such as Cam Newton.
Entering a season with a backup quarterback situation that lacks experience in the NFL simply isn’t the best of practices. That’s why a team like the Indianapolis Colts has an established option like Jacoby Brissett behind Philip Rivers in addition to a prospect in Jacob Eason.
