Green Bay Packers
It was a successful 2019 campaign from the Green Bay Packers. They ended the regular season with an impressive 13-3 record and managed to reach the NFC Championship Game. Their success was in stark contrast from just a season ago when they went 6-9-1.
There wasn’t much movement from the Packers in free agency that will net much for noticeable improvement. They lost Bryan Bulaga and Blake Martinez in free agency and the selections they made in the 2020 NFL Draft were geared far more towards the future.
There were many close games the Packers managed to win last season and that may not end up playing out the same way in 2020. They posted a league-best 8-1 record in one-score games. An example of close treading is the fact that they defeated the Detroit Lions twice by a combined four points.
Based on the landscape of the NFC, it seems more likely for the Packers to still win the NFC North but lose early in the playoffs. They don’t seem to have the necessary pieces to go as deep as they did in 2019 let get over the hump to earn a Super Bowl appearance.
