Denver Broncos
There was a clear focus from the Denver Broncos to bolster their offensive firepower for Drew Lock’s first full season as a regular starter. It was a definite need considering they play in the AFC West along with the high-octane Kansas City Chiefs.
No team recorded fewer passing touchdowns (16) last season and that was despite Courtland Sutton managing to be named an alternate for the Pro Bowl. There simply wasn’t enough supporting cast talent around Sutton and trading away Emmanuel Sanders made it worse.
The Broncos kicked things off by selection Jerry Jeudy with the No. 15 pick. They followed that up by taking another receiver, K.J. Hamler, in the second round. It certainly didn’t hurt to add another speedy tight end in Albert Okwuegbunam during the fourth round.
Following their selections in the NFL Draft, the Broncos now have a more diverse and impactful combination of skill-sets at the wide receiver position. Hamler should provide an explosive option out of the slot while Jeudy can succeed on all three levels opposite of Sutton.
